The natural way of giving birth to a new born is called normal delivery. This process involves passing and pushing the baby out of the birth canal. Alternative method of delivering a baby is called cesarean section delivery. Here, the baby is delivered out using surgery.
A cesarean section delivery is usually carried out when the pregnant woman is unable to deliver the baby through birth canal or there are risks involved in the normal birth procedure.
A cesarean section delivery method includes usage of surgical instruments and cutleries. During the procedure, an incision is made in the mother's abdomen and uterus. Baby is taken out through the abdomen. This surgery is carried out under the influence of anesthesia to make the body of the patient inactive during the procedure.
Cesarean Section or C-section delivery is also common in mothers who carry more than one baby in their womb. Some C-section operations are pre-planned, whereas other reasons include unexpected problems that occur during pregnancy or at the time of delivery.
Some reasons of C-section may be:
Cesarean Section surgery requires 45 minutes to one hour for completion. Women take longer to recover from a C-section surgery compared to a normal vaginal birth. Also, it is known to be quite painful as women have stitches on their stomach. During the recovery phase, mothers should rest well or it causes negative impact on their health in their latter life. Also, patients are asked to take special care during the healing phase. Avoid lifting heavy objects and performing intense activities unless you recover completely.
