- Vitrectomy - Viterctomy is a procedure done for removing the vitreous gel present in the middle of eyes for accessing the retina. People who have undergone this surgery are known to be at a higher risk of acquiring cataracts.
- Injuries of eyes - Even though cataracts happening due to injury in adults is a very rare thing, cataract formation due to injuries is common among children.
- Vitamin deficiency - Deficiency of certain vitamins like vitamin E & C in your daily diet are likelier to make you a victim of cataract.
- Anti-depressants - Medicines that are prescribed to people suffering from depression and mental disorders are also prone to initiate formation of cataract.
