FESS is an acronym for Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery which is used to treat blocked sinuses. Hollow cavities that are present between facial bones are called as sinuses. Primary function of sinus is to produce mucus that moistens inner lining of nose. Mucus is also responsible to filter dust, pollutants, micro-organism from the air we breathe.
