- Cost of Laparoscopic Hysterectomy in Bengaluru
Abdominal, laparoscopic and vaginal hysterectomies are the few types of techniques used by gynecologists for performing hysterectomy to remove uterus.
No price information available as of now.
The laparoscopic hysterectomy procedure commences with the surgeon making small incisions in the abdomen after a general anesthetic is administered for making the patient lose consciousness. After which a laparoscope is inserted through the incisions for examining the uterine area. The incisions are then used as entry points for accessing the uterus and then removing it. A catheter is left inside the bladder for better drainage of urine. This device is removed in a couple of days post the surgery.
Following measures need to be exercised to have a successful outcome post surgery, as recovery phase carries the same level of importance as the surgery:
- Driving - Driving is to be avoided for a few weeks post surgery.
- Walking and light exercise - In the first week of recovery, 10-15 minutes of walking is encouraged, whereas light exercise in the second week is advised.
- Pain killer medications - Pain relief medicines and ant-inflammatory medication is prescribed by your doctor.
- Stitches -You will have to make an appointment with the doctor after 5-7 days for getting the stitches removed.
- Heavy objects - You are advised not to lift heavy objects like shopping bags and electrical appliances for a few months post the surgery. This is important for recovering fully.
- Diet - The food consumed in first few days should not be very spicy or unhealthy. High-fiber and nutritious foods should be included in the diet.
In your recovery phase, if by chance you encounter following symptoms, you need to contact your doctor soon:
